Future Projections and Predictions – Construction

Where are we going to be in 2030, what does it mean for you, and how can you make money investing in the future? I am doing a series of predictions and projections in numerous industries. These are my views and how I personally see the industries going in the future.

Here are a few of my thoughts about Construction:

  1. Construction Labor is going to be cut by 50% while construction spending will increase by 50%.
    • Recently, I saw some road construction where one person was operating a jack hammer and the other person was spraying water on the surface of the concrete and the jack hammer to make it easier. All the time this was being done, two other people were watching and giving directions.  By 2030, all of these people are going to be replaced by robotics that will be more precise, need no oversight, will deploy on demand, will not need overtime or be subject to fraudulent worker’s compensation claims.  For heavy construction, robotics will take over.
